Igen kan man tage afsæt i det naturhistoriske. Mindre end en kilometer fra
Naturhistorisk Museum i Aarhus ligger Riis Skov, der som en af landets mest
besøgte skove hvert år gæstes af langt over en million mennesker. Man kan sige,
at interessen for naturen er enorm blandt de mennesker, der lever lige omkring
museet. Men vi ser altså stadig kun en brøkdel af Aarhus natur-nysgerrige
borgere på museet.

oplever admiral sommerfugle i ti tusindental på efterårstræk – det giver en unik
her-og-nu oplevelse, som kan gøre et udsletteligt indtryk. Det kommer vi aldrig
til at kunne matche på et museum. En udstilling skal omhandle noget vigtigt,
der har betydning for den enkelte, noget vi kan relatere os til, noget der rører os
og har betydning i vores liv. En udstilling skal give noget vigtigt at tænke over!
