En anden af de interviewede, Cecilie på 22 år, vægter også det sociale: ”En god
oplevelse er altid noget, som jeg deler med andre. På en eller anden måde får
man et større udbytte, når man er sammen andre – det er bedre at være til kon-
cert, i teatret eller på museum med nogen.”
Museer er der, man er sammen
Fra den nationale brugerundersøgelse ved vi, at museer er steder, der vælges,
når man vil have oplevelser sammen med andre. Siden 2009 hvor undersøgel-
ser er blevet påbegyndt har mellem 92% og 93% besøgt museerne sammen med
andre. I 2018 besøgte 92% et museum sammen med andre. Men hvad så, når
man ikke har nogle at tage på tur med? Hvis der er en barriere, er løsningen så
at gøre museerne til mindre sociale steder?
Nej, det tror jeg bestemt ikke. Der er formodentlig ikke nogle af dem, jeg citerer
fra undersøgelsen, som ikke kunne tænke sig at lave en aktivitet med andre.
Museernes skal i stedet arbejde endnu mere med deres sociale potentiale. Det
kan ske ved at få flest mulige til at føle sig velkomne på museerne, og ved at
museerne tage initiativer, som skaber nye sociale forbindelser.
Nye besøgende skal føle sig velkomne ved, at deres oplevelse og dagsorden bliver
prioriteres mindst ligeså højt som museets dagsorden om at fortælle bestemte
historier. I forhold til det sociale aspekt ved besøget tror jeg, at hverken lavere
pris eller andet indhold vil flytte mange besøgende, men derimod at man bliver
budt velkommen eller inviteret ind på museet af nogen. Nina Simon beskriver i
hendes bog The Art of Relevance, at museet skal tænke på, hvordan de kan hjæl-
pe dem, der er museets outsiders til at blive insiders. En enkelt måde, det kan
ske på, er ved at få en insiders til at invitere en outsider indenfor. Det kan for
eksempel være ved at gøre det nemt og attraktivt for museets årskortindehavere
eller andre af museets ”ambassadører” at invitere folk med på museumsbesøg.
Noget andet, der er værd at arbejde med er initiativer, der bruger museers rum
til at skabe eller styrke sociale sammenhænge.
Nye fælleskaber for familier ramt af demens
Erindringer i fællesskab er et nyt forløb, som Den Gamle By og Aarhus Kommu-
ne står bag. Forløbene foregår i den lejlighed, museet har indrettet til remi-
niscensforløb for ældre. Deltagerne er par, hvor den ene af dem fornyligt har
fået en demensdiagnose. En af sygdommens mange svære konsekvenser er, at
det sociale liv ofte skal gentænkes. Man er ikke længere som person eller par
det, man var før. De pårørende kan også være flove over, at den person, man er
tæt knyttet til, ikke opfører sig som tidligere.
Et formål med Erindringer i fællesskab er, at de ældre ramt af demens og de
pårørende kan høre om, hvordan man kan bruge historie og erindring til at gøre
dagligdagen nemmere. Et andet formål er, at museet kan blive en ramme om
social aktivitet for borgere, der skal til at gentænke den måde, de normalt lever
på og omgås andre.
