I det følgende opridses ikke-brugernes demografiske
baggrund, herunder køn, alder, uddannelse og geografisk
fordeling.
Tabellerne i dette afsnit er baseret på tre forskellige
kilder. Ikke-brugerne refererer til panelundersøgelsen,
mens data for brugerne kommer fra den nationale bru-
gerundersøgelse. Data vedrørende den danske befolkning
stammer fra Danmarks Statistik2
.
Hvor det blandt brugerne især er kvinderne, der går på
museum, er der en mere ligelig fordeling af mænd og
kvinder blandt ikke-brugerne. 53% af ikke-brugerne er
mænd, og 47% kvinder3 Figur 6.3: Ikke-brugere fordelt på køn .
Der findes ikke-brugere af museer i alle aldersgrupper,
men der er en overvægt af ikke-brugere i aldersgruppen
30-49 år. Denne aldersgruppe har typisk mindre tid til
at gå på museum, fordi de både er aktive på arbejdsmar-
kedet og i større udstrækning har hjemmeboende børn,
hvilket gælder for 50% af de 30-49-årige. Omvendt
er der flere i aldersgruppen 50+, som går på museum.
Derfor er aldersgruppen underrepræsenteret blandt

2. Resultaterne for ikke-brugerne vedrører personer i alderen 16-74 år og adskiller sig dermed fra alderssammensætningen i brugerundersøgelsen
og tallene fra Danmarks Statistik, hvor der ikke er en øvre aldersgrænse. Konsekvenser af denne forskel kommenteres i selve teksten, hvor det er
relevant.
3. Den samlede andel af mænd, når resultaterne for ikke-brugere og brugere sammenlægges, bliver ca. 46 %. Det er 3 procentpoint lavere end de
49 % mænd i den danske befolkning. Forskellen kan hovedsageligt tilskrives, at kvinder er mere tilbøjelige til at deltage i brugerundersøgelsen end
mænd.
